You'll need a PDF viewer installed on your computer to view and print the gift card. If you don’t have one installed, you can download Acrobat Reader for free.
- Print it on an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper.
- Personalize it with your own special message.
For membership gift cards, fill in the start date and access code from your purchase confirmation email.
Not getting Ancestry® emails?
- Once printed, fold the card and give it to the recipient.
Frequently asked questions
Can Ancestry gift cards be used to shop on Ancestry?
No, Ancestry gift cards don't hold any monetary value. They are only used to let someone know you've bought them an Ancestry membership (including the start date and access code) or an AncestryDNA kit.
What's the difference between printable gift cards and gift membership emails from Ancestry?
- Printable gift cards are PDF you print yourself. You'll fill in the membership start date and access code, then give the card to the recipient.
- Gift membership emails are sent to directly the recipient’s email inbox on the date you choose. The email already includes the membership start date and access code.
How can gift cards help me keep the gift a surprise?
While AncestryDNA kits can be shipped directly to the recipient, the package is labeled with AncestryDNA (unless you add neutral gift wrapping at checkout) and doesn’t include your name. Gift cards allow you to notify the recipient of who the gift is from and what they’ll receive without revealing the surprise in advance.
