A test owner is the person whose DNA is reflected in the test results. An owner can give one person at a time the ability to manage their test.
A test manager can do everything an owner can, including inviting others to view the test, deleting results, and downloading DNA data. The owner can remove a manager from their test at any time, but a manager can't remove an owner.
Making someone a manager is useful when the owner is uninterested in managing their results or needs help to manage them.

Where the managed test appears
Once a DNA test is registered on a test owner's account, it stays there until it's deleted. When someone becomes a manager, the owner's test shows up on both the manager's and owner's DNA homepage. The manager can access the test(s) they manage by clicking View Another Test in the top-right corner of their DNA homepage or by switching tests in the Ancestry app.
Memberships
A membership purchased on one account does not transfer to another account. If you manage someone else's DNA test on your account and your account has a membership, you can access the DNA features of their test that are available with a membership. If you manage someone else's test on your account and you don't have a membership (but they do), you don’t have access to the features available only with a membership.
