You can find people in your tree by searching for their names or looking for them in the tree’s list of all people.
Searching by name
From a family tree
- In the toolbar on the left, click the Find in tree
button. - In the opened side panel, enter someone's name.
- In the drop-down menu that appears, click on their name to see them in the tree.
If their name doesn’t appear, try:
- Other names (like nicknames and names at birth)
- Alternate spellings
- Using the "List of all people."
From a person’s profile page
- In the top-left corner, click Find in tree.
- In the opened side panel, enter someone's name.
- In the drop-down menu that appears, click on their name to go to their profile page.
If their name doesn’t appear, try:
- Other names (like nicknames and names at birth)
- Alternate spellings
- Using the "List of all people."
Using the “List of all people”
- Go to your family tree.
- In the toolbar on the left, click the Find in tree
button. - In the opened side panel, click on List of all people.
- Look through the list of all people in your tree. Or, enter a name and click Search.
- Names are sorted alphabetically, starting with the last name, followed by the first and middle names (or initials).
- Names starting with a number or a symbol appear at the top of the list.
- People without a last name entered appear at the end of the list.
- When no birth or death date or place is attached to a person, those columns will be blank.
- By default, 20 people are listed per page. To load more names at once, increase the number of names per page in the bottom-left corner.
- To see more names, use the left and right arrows in the bottom-right corner to change pages.
- Click on a name to view their profile page.
