DNA results can't be moved from one account to another, but they can appear on multiple accounts if the owner (the person whose DNA was tested) or manager invites other people to see them.

Sharing ancestral origins and matches
From a browser
Go to DNA settings and skip to step 3
- In the top-right corner of Ancestry®, click your profile and select Account Settings.
- On the left side of the page, under Settings, click DNA.
- Click the DNA test you want to share.
- Scroll to the DNA test sharing section and click on DNA test sharing.
- Click Invite.
- Enter the recipient's email address or username.
All invitations are delivered by email, whether you enter their email address or username. - In the Role menu, choose the role you want the person to have.
- A viewer can view the full DNA results but can't add or change anything.
- A collaborator can view the full DNA results, add notes, edit participant details, and link the test to a tree.
- A manager can invite others to access the results, assign and change roles, permanently delete results, and download DNA Data. You can invite one person at a time to manage their test and can add or remove a manager at any time. (This option isn't available for sharing minors' DNA results.)
- Click Invite.
From the app
- In the app's top-left corner, tap your profile icon (photo or letters).
- If necessary, under Manage DNA test, tap Switch test and choose the person whose DNA results you want to share.
- Under Manage DNA test, tap the gear
icon. - Scroll to the DNA test sharing section and tap on DNA test sharing.
- Tap Invite.
- Enter the recipient's email address or username.

Sharing only ancestral regions
From a browser
- From any Ancestry page, click the DNA tab and select Origins.
- If necessary, switch DNA tests by clicking on DNA: [Name] in the top-left corner and choosing the person whose ancestral regions you want to share.
- In the top-right corner of the Origins page, click Share and choose a sharing option.
- Family groups > choose a family group > add a message (optional) > Share.
- Community groups > choose a community group > add a message (optional) > Share.
- Ancestry Message > choose or enter a recipient > add or edit the message > Send.
- Email > If prompted, select your email program > choose or enter a recipient > add a message > send email.
- Facebook > If prompted, log in to your Facebook account > add a message > Post to Facebook.
- WhatsApp > Choose or enter the contacts/chats you want to share the results with > Select the button to forward the results to those chats.
- X > If prompted, log in to your X account > add a message > Post.
- Copy Link > Selecting this will copy the link to your clipboard. Paste this link anywhere you want to share the results.
- Download > The ancestral regions will be downloaded to your computer. If you can’t find it, check your Downloads folder.
From the app
- In the app's bottom-right corner, tap DNA.

Managing invitations to your DNA
From a browser
Go to DNA settings and skip to step 3

- In the top-right corner of Ancestry®, click your profile and select Account Settings.
- On the left side of the page, under Settings, click DNA.
- Click the DNA test with invitees you want to change.
- Scroll to the DNA test sharing section and click on DNA test sharing.
- On the Accepted and Pending tabs, edit someone's role, end their access, or resend their invitation.
- To change a role, select their current role and choose a different one > If prompted, verify your account and click continue.
- To end someone's access, select Remove and click Remove again to confirm.
- To resend an invitation, choose Resend invitation.
From the app

Invitation not received
Double-check the email address you sent the invitation to. If it's right, try sending the invitation to another one of their email addresses. If they only have one email address or still haven't received the invitation, please contact us.

How do I authorize the Ancestry app to add photos to my device? When prompted, allow the ancestry app permission to add photos to your device.
If you didn’t allow the Ancestry app permission to add photos to your device, you can change your device's settings to allow it. For help allowing the Ancestry app access to add photos to your device, select your device type:
