It's not currently possible to merge trees on Ancestry®, but the topics below may make it easier to combine information. To merge duplicate people together, see Merging Duplicate People.
Uploading trees to Ancestry®
If you have a family tree on another website (or in genealogy software) that you’d like to upload to Ancestry®, you can upload it in the form of a GEDCOM (Genealogical Data Communication) file. Once you have the tree on your account, choose the larger tree as the starting point and enter the information from your smaller tree manually or by copying people one by one from the small tree to the larger tree.
Copying people from trees
To copy a person from one tree to another, choose Tools on the profile page of the person you want to copy and select + Save to Tree. For detailed instructions, see Copying People from Trees.
Only one person can be copied at a time. This method can be used both between two trees in the same account and between a tree found in search results and a tree in your account. Living people and people in private trees can't be copied.
Merging duplicate people
If your tree contains duplicates, try merging duplicate people together. When you merge two people, you keep the information from both people and choose which information to keep when facts conflict.
