One person at a time can be copied from a tree. The source tree can be your own or someone else's. Only deceased people may be copied.
Copying a person
-
From the profile of someone you want to copy, click Tools > Save to Tree.

-
Select the tree you want, then click Add a new person.
-
Click Save.
-
In the top-right corner, click Edit > Edit Relationships.
-
Click Add [relationship type] to connect the copied person to someone in your tree. For example, if the copied person is the daughter of a woman in your tree, click Add mother.
-
Type the name of the person (in our example, this would be "Maria") and select the name from the drop-down menu.
-
Click Save.
Copying sources
When someone is copied to a tree, only facts about the person's gender, birth, and death are copied. Sources aren't included. For help adding sources, see Managing Sources in Trees.
Copying a whole tree
To duplicate a whole tree, see Moving Trees Between Accounts.
Merging and splitting trees
It's not currently possible to merge or split family trees, but some strategies may help. See Unable to Merge Family Trees and Splitting an Ancestry® Family Tree.
